The journey to finding peace starts with taking the first step by making a call or sending me an email to schedule a phone consultation.
It is essential one feels comfortable during the process of psychotherapy and that happens when there is a connection or a βfitβ between the therapist and the client. If one does not feel comfortable, the process of psychotherapy could feel frustrating or disappointing. For this reason, I encourage new clients to contact me and schedule a 20 minute introductory phone conversation to get a sense of how it feels to talk with me and to answer questions regarding the process of psychotherapy, my clinical experience and background, fees, and general questions one may have before initiating counseling.
If we decide to meet in person, a personalized assessment or clinical interview will be conducted which in general takes approximately 1 hour. For couples and families, the timeframe for an assessment will vary. During the evaluation, current feelings, thoughts, symptoms, sources of unhappiness, conflict or distress, and areas of strength will be identified. Current goals including desired happiness, hopes, and expectations will also be discussed.
If we continue to work together, individual psychotherapy sessions can take up to 50 minutes and couple/family sessions can take up to 50 minutes or 85 minutes depending on needs of the couple or family.
Initiating psychotherapy is the start of a wonderful journey to understanding ourselves and what it is we would like to have to feel satisfied and at peace.
I invite you to start this journey.
