With over 15 years of experience in the field of psychology, I have worked to help individuals, couples and families attain happiness and peace of mind in various outpatient clinical settings including academic (Schools of Medicine and University Counseling Center) and private practice.
As an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine, former Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine, and current Adjunct Professor at Drexel University, I spent over 15 years directing and clinically supervising staff and students earning MD, MS and PhD degrees in clinical psychology, social work, and creative arts therapies as well as medical students, residents, and fellows. During these years, outpatient psychotherapy has been a significant focus of my work which has included assisting individuals presenting with feelings of depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief and loss, managing and attaining medical health goals associated with chronic medical conditions, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, working with families who have had or have a baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), parenting concerns and challenges, women’s health and wellness, and issues relevant to immigrants (first and second generations). Specific areas I have also addressed while working with college students include career concerns and life transitions. I have helped individuals, couples, and families. In private practice I have continued to address these issues and overall feelings of unhappiness and discontent.
I also have presented at and have conducted training seminars for mental health professionals throughout Pennsylvania and the DMV.
