Therapy with Empathy
My philosophical approach to counseling incorporates empathy, compassion, and kindness.
Imagining how it could be like to be living in the situation one is in, the environment one is in, and having the experiences one has had and is currently having is not what many expect from others. I work to understand all of this and how one could be feeling on a daily basis to understand in an empathic way one's own unique life story.
Compassion is something we don’t often think of giving to our own self. We often can experience more compassion for others than for ourselves. It starts with thinking about what we are doing or what we are thinking with kindness rather than with criticism. I believe in modeling and illustrating this in psychotherapy by experiencing compassion, kindness, understanding, and acceptance of the clients I work with.
A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.
